Method of Training
Lure and Reward

Puppy 2 course
  • The Puppy 2 course is a 5 week course and the classes are an hour long.
  • The puppies should be four months or older.
  • Puppies need to have completed the Puppy 1 course to be legible to start the Puppy 2 course. If they haven’t been for the Puppy 1 course, and they are already 4 months of age, a 1on1 session will be done to teach them the obedience commands needed to integrate them into a Puppy 2 class.
  • I usually work with a maximum of 6 or 7 puppies in a Puppy 2 class in order to ensure that each handler/dog combination gets the attention they deserve.
  • As a puppy gets older their behaviour can become more challenging. The Puppy 2 classes will focus on reinforcing commands taught during the Puppy 1 course and teaching the puppy self-control in an enjoyable manner. The puppy will be prepared for walks outside their environment, taught manners going through a gate, improve on stays, teach the puppy to remain calm when being examined by a stranger and not bite or jump up, and to continue with some agility.
 
1on1 session
  • If the puppy hasn’t been for the Puppy 1 course, a 1on1 session will be done to teach them the obedience commands needed to integrate them into a Puppy 2 class.
  • These sessions are 1 hour long and are not restricted to 1 per puppy. If the puppy/handler feels they need more time to master the commands, more than one 1on1 session can be scheduled.

About Our School
I am committed to seeing the bond between pups and their owners flourish through mutual understanding and help owners understand the needs and behaviours of their dogs. By working through modern, positive training methods, I hope to build that important partnership between puppy and owner and for the puppy to become a well-balanced adult dog.
I have run puppy 1 & 2 classes for four years and have recently started my own puppy school, Furry Kidz Puppy School.  I would love to work with you and your puppy and ensure that with the time you spend training your puppy, you achieve the maximum results.
