Our love and compassion for animals resonates in the way we handle and train them. We regularly attend workshops and courses in order for us to stay in touch with what is happening in the world of dog training. We also compete in obedience and the show ring. 

Method of Training

Course Content
  • Written material is available for all puppy owners.
    Informative posters are discussed in puppy classes.

  • Noise Desensitizing. Noise desensitization with regards to thunder, lightning, motorcycles, hair dryers, vacuum cleaners and other scary noises is part of the curriculum
  • Handling. During the course of the six weeks, pups are handled in order to become accustomed to veterinary examinations,  grooming and show handling by judges.
  • During our 6 week puppy course you will be taught how to train your puppy to walk on lead, come when called, make eye contact, recognize its name, sit, lie down, stand, stay and navigate obstacles.  We will also do some trick training for fun!  Your puppy will walk on different surfaces like sand, tar, aluminium, material, plastic and grass.  Your pup will even have the opportunity to play in water.  Even though this seems like fairly simple activities, they are crucial to the development of a confident puppy.  
  • Housebreaking is an urgent priority when bringing your furry friend home, it is also one of the first subjects we will discuss in class. Although housebreaking your puppy may seem like a daunting task we will advise you on how to do this in a few easy steps. Persistence, patience and a routine is vital to successfully house breaking your pup.
  • Any difficulties you are experiencing will be addressed in class and we will also give you information on chewing, jumping, digging, resource guarding, crate training, toys, parasite control, grooming and nutritional information.  
  • Off-lead socialization. Play is an important part of growing up and learning.  Pups will have plenty of opportunity during class time to romp, play and explore our beautiful training grounds.  
  •  Walk abouts outside the training grounds are done from time to time and road etiquette is discussed. As dogs tend to not generalize well, it is important to take them to as many new environments during their formative months.  
  • We train by using the lure & method and clicker training.

Duration of Course: 6 weeks

Requirements
Proof Inoculation Required ;Please bring a copy of your puppy’s vaccination certificate.Puppies must be de-wormed every 3 months. A flea and tick treatment is recommended monthly

About Our School
At Little Pups Training Academy we believe that training your puppy should be a fun, positive experience and should build confidence. Training takes time and patience but the rewards are worth the time and effort that you put in early on. A well trained, socialized pup is a pleasure not only to you, but also to those your puppy may meet and interact with.

Puppy socialisation requires introducing your puppy to as many different situations, people, environments and other puppies as possible, always in a positive, fun and safe manner. This will help them to cope better with the things they will encounter in life. Basic obedience is taught using positive reinforcement methods such as clicker training and lure/reward training.

Our classes are aimed at providing you with the necessary skills to train your puppy and to send confident, socialized and well trained pups out into the world all the while making it fun for you and your puppy. We are fully qualified in puppy socialization and training and look forward to working with you.
