Method of Training
Clicker Training
 
Course Content
  • Presentation on beginning of course as well as written material required
  • Handling, Examination and Grooming offered
  • Noise desensitization covered
  • Basic Obedience: Sit, Down, Recall, Loose Lead Walking for beginners, Obstacles and spatial/tactile awareness, Puppy Survival Tips, House Training, Teaching the Pup how to Pay Attention/Focus, Leave Instruction.
  • Toilet Training is discussed in detail at the Presentation, and throughout the course. 
  • Management of basic problem behaviour such as jumping up, chewing etc supplied
  • Off-lead socialization is offered (monitored with timeouts included)
  • Walks outside school included
  • Each week homework handouts are given along with reading  material / diagrams. 
  • There is a large TTouch influence due to my current and ongoing training with TTouch SA. Once I have qualified, official TTouch sessions will be offered.

Training Times

Group Training classes  - daytime on Saturdays in Glenwood.

Duration of Course: 8 weeks

App Number of pups in class: Maximum 7 – 8 pups per class only
 
Age of pups in class: From 9 / 10 weeks old through to 16 weeks old.

About Our School
GoodPet is a private company specialising in the Behavioural aspects and Training of your Domestic Pets. We also host Pet related Events in the Greater Durban Area.

It is run by a Qualified Animal Behaviourist with links to Ethology Academy and The South African Board for Companion Animal Professionals.

The company’s aim is to develop relationships between animals and their humans, who are taught to interact with their pets at all levels, from education to recreation.
