About Our School
Our classes are called Confi-Puppy classes, as we aim to give
our pups the confidence to handle every situation they may find themselves in later in life, without being fearful and/or having to resort to aggression.

The aim of our classes are as follows:

 1) To socialize the puppies in terms of teaching them how to
interact appropriately with other living creatures (other dogs, cats, children,  people etc...)
 2) To habituate or teach your puppy to become used to inanimate  objects or situations such as riding in a car, visiting the vet, experiencing  busy or loud places, vacuum cleaners etc..)
 3) Social skills in terms of manners with other dogs and people
alike.

We achieve this using a number of techniques and tools:

a) Tellington Touch - a technique used to reduce stress, help to
pup to focus and develop the bond between the handler and the
pup.
b) Clicker training - A training tool used for obedience.
c) Obstacle courses (also known as confidence courses) to help
the pup to negotiate his way through potential
problems.
d) Playtime with other pups, to teach social skills and
manners.

All of our training is based on positive reinforcement i.e.
rewards for good behaviour (initially begins with treats, but depending on your puppies idea of reward, may progress to toys and or affection and praise). These techniques are proven to be the quickest and longest lasting forms of training, whereby your puppy learns that good behaviour or what is asked for, earns high value rewards.

Other areas we will cover in detail during the classes include
house training, jumping, chewing, biting, resource guarding, digging and many  more.

These classes are meant to be great fun, but are also crucial for a healthy, well balanced (and bomb proof) puppy. The classes also do wonders for the development of the bond between owner and pup.
