Ethology Academy offers a variety of year courses, running from February to November.
These are certificate courses & are essentially via correspondence, with workshops & seminars also presented.

Animal-Assisted Activity Course (AVAILABLE 2013 ONLY):

- Introduction & approaches to the study of animal behaviour
- Problem behaviour & possible resolutions
- Applied behaviour
- Care & welfare of animals
- Consists of assignments, a 2 day seminar (presented in Pretoria, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth & Banana Beach, KZN) & examination.

Advanced Behaviour Course (dogs, cats or horses) :
- One of the Basic Behaviour Courses is a prerequisite.
- For horses, must be familiar with ground work, stable routines & a fairly accomplished rider.
- Consists of written assignments & a compulsory 3 day seminar in Cape Town or Pretoria.
- Practical skills & ability to apply the knowledge in case studies are evaluated.

Grooming Business Course :
- Aimed at persons already working in the grooming industry, prospective grooms, kennel personnel & pet owners in general.
- Consists of assignments, compulsory attendance of a 1 day seminar in Pretoria & a 2 day workshop in Johannesburg, at least 40 hours practical work in a grooming facility & examination.
- One of the Basic Behaviour Courses is strongly recommended.

Animal-Assisted Activity Course (AVAILABLE 2013 ONLY):
- One of the Basic Behaviour Courses is a prerequisite.
- Aimed at those who want to use animals to enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities, chronic illness or restricting physical circumstances.
- Includes aspects of human behaviour, theoretical foundations for human-animal interaction & the scientific support for animal-assisted activities.
- Consists of assignments, a compulsory 3 day seminar (Pretoria) & practical case studies.
