Having moved to Oudtshoorn, we now offer our quality services to the community of the Garden Route. Our classes are fun and we teach in a force free – fear free manner. We use science based methods to teach behaviours we want. We understand the psychology of learning theory and use that to teach your dog the necessary skills to manoeuvre in our world. We also assist with individual problems and will help to teach the most important dog in the world – YOURS!! Other Services Offered We work in close relationship with Caring Friends Therapy Dogs and for people who are interested in joining this program, we offer ongoing weekly training classes, to advance the therapy dogs in their work, but to also offer a social outlet for dogs and handlers, to remain in contact and interact positively. Advanced obedience will be offered during these classes. Scent and nose work classes will be offered upon request but these exercises are also incorporated in our advanced class for the therapy dogs |
Method of Training : Positive reinforcement
Training Days/Times : Appointments are necessary for all sessions as they will be scheduled individually Booking Necessary: No, but please contact us for class details Vaccinations Rqrd : Yes Requirements: You will need yummy treats that your dog will want to work for, and your dog has to be fully vaccinated. In the case of behaviour consultations we require a full vet check to eliminate underlying health issues that could cause behavioural changes Courses Offered: For puppies that have missed out on their early socialisation, we offer one-on-one training sessions, to teach them the necessary life skills and manners needed in the human world. Especially teenage dogs have generally a short fuse and attention span. They test boundaries and rules and usually, the first signs of dog-dog aggression and resource guarding appear. This is a very difficult time for owners and we believe that individual attention is required to solve individual problems that may have cropped up. Stable supports dogs will be used for careful socialisation if possible. We also take older dogs through our school that may have developed behaviour issues, mainly due to some change in the environment that the dog has not learned to cope with. These problems cannot be solved with general training but need an in-depth analysis and history, on which the modification plan will be based. |
