Oh Dear, Pet Odours!

Having pets is so much fun, but there are also lots of ‘somewhat unpleasant odours' involved! Here are a few simple tips to keep these in check, thus maintaining happy and healthy cohabitation.
1. Keep doors and windows open
- Apply shampoo to your dog's coat and rub, scrub, and massage your dog.
- Rinse your dog thoroughly with warm water.
- Dry your dog.
4. Clean their toys
1. Keep doors and windows open
- Opening windows helps maximize the airflow and circulation, as stagnant air can be stinky.
- This helps to reduce odour issues by killing the bacteria and fungi in the air.
- It’s a simple and effective method.
2. Invest in a good odour remover or carpet deodorizer - These are great at eliminating strong odours and sometimes stains as well, leaving your living spaces spotless and pleasantly scented.
- They provide the ideal solution for maintaining a clean and healthy home environment.
- Modern day versions of these are normally eco- friendly and safe for all pets.
3. Bath your pet - Giving your pet a regular bath is a winner all round, and while not all of them enjoy it, the act is an essential one.
- Bathing on a regular basis gives them a soft, lustrous coat and keeps them clean.
- This has an added benefit of keeping your home clean too.
- Of course, remember the following:
- Reassure your dog and brush them out before you start the bath.
- Apply shampoo to your dog's coat and rub, scrub, and massage your dog.
- Rinse your dog thoroughly with warm water.
- Dry your dog.
4. Clean their toys
- All pets items can easily hold on to odour and bacteria, so washing them is a must.
- Give toys, leashes, and bowls a proper clean, as they may carry some of the dirt you are trying so hard to rid your home of.
5. Vacuum - Even if your pet doesn’t shed much, it’s important to vacuum your home often.
- This makes it easier to prevent more pet hair and dander being in your home, especially for people whose pets shed a lot.
