⚠️ Human Medications & Vitamins Can Be Dangerous to DogsMany medications and vitamins that are safe for people can be toxic or deadly to dogs. Dogs’ bodies handle drugs very differently, and even a small amount can cause serious harm.
Never give your dog human medication or vitamins unless a veterinarian tells you to.

🚫 Common Medications That Are Dangerous to DogsPain RelieversIbuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®)
Naproxen (Aleve®)
Aspirin
Can cause:
  • Stomach ulcers and internal bleeding
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Kidney failure
  • Seizures or death

AcetaminophenTylenol®
Can cause:
  • Severe liver damage
  • Damage to red blood cells
  • Swelling of face or paws
  • Death

Cold, Flu & Allergy MedicationsPseudoephedrine (Sudafed®)
Phenylephrine
Combination cold/flu products
Can cause:
  • Rapid heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Tremors or seizures
  • Hyperactivity or collapse

Antidepressants & Anxiety MedicationsProzac®, Zoloft®, Effexor®
Can cause:
  • Extreme lethargy or agitation
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Tremors, seizures, or heart problems

Sleep Aids & SedativesAmbien®, Valium®
Can cause:
  • Severe disorientation
  • Trouble walking
  • Extreme sedation or agitation

⚠️ Human Vitamins & Supplements Are Also a RiskHuman vitamins are not safe substitutes for dog supplements.
Risky ingredients include:
  • Iron – severe poisoning
  • Vitamin D – kidney failure
  • Vitamin A – bone and joint damage
  • Calcium – heart and kidney problems
  • Xylitol – extremely toxic sweetener

  • Made specifically for dogs, and
  • Recommended by a veterinarian
