STOPPING SALE OF DOGS ON INTERNET, SIDE OF ROAD ETC, AND PASSING LAWS TO PROTECT DOGS

After doing my daily check on GT and JM for pups for sale and dogs given for free and advising people offering what could happen, and sending people selling of the website so that owner could get at least some basic info, I was just so disheartened as daily there are more and more.

In USA the ADTP has managed to get the selling of same stopped on gumtree and related sites, why not here? It is virtually impossible to even get a contact address on gumtree and nobody does anything about it.

I decided to do a bit more checking as to ways we can stop this. I came across the site below and have posted here some of the information I got where action is being taken in USA to protect animals (and there were literally hundreds!) – why on earth is SA not more  pro-active and why on earth can we not get something done like this here??

The following is taken from a website called PIJAC ( Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council) and to see what they are all about have a look at the READ FURTHER below. We have to get something done.

SA is in danger of becoming a country with Feral dogs and cats walking the streets as has already happened in many overseas countries. We just do not have enough shelters or homes for the dogs being bred at present and action has to be taken.

I searched Google with various options including Dog Law in SA and only thing I could come up with is lawyers one could contact for dog bites and stopping dog fighting!
